Bucas Grande Island situated on the far eastern part of the province of Surigao del Norte. It is popularly known as the municipality of Socorro, a lone island municipality in the entire province. Bucas Grande Island lies within the breadth of the Pacific and is physically located at coordinates 9° 37′ 17″ North, 125° 58′ 0″ East. Its total land area of 12,445 hectares holds a count of more or less 20,000 inhabitants. Sitio Remedios is a private village resort situated in an 18,000 square meter of land in Barangay Victoria, Currimao, Ilocos Norte, facing the South China Sea. It is a re-created Ilocano village typical of the mid-fifties, and stands as a reminder of a more genteel era. The houses and other buildings are made of vintage bricks and wood salvaged from mid-century structures mostly from the towns of Ilocos Norte.
